5 years in Holland! / ¡5 años en Holanda!

We are never sure whether we should count from the 29th: the day we arrived to the Netherlands, with only the things that could fit in our car after a long trip through a frozen Spain and France, or the 30th: the day we woke up in our new land, facing an uncertain future with lots of enthusiasm. Anyhow, at that time I couldn't have answered the question "how long are you going to be here?" and as time goes by it seems that I could have answered "long time, my friend".

But again now... how long will I be here? I simply don't know. I like living life as it comes and I don't usually think a lot about the future. Things just happen. This anniversary just happened and I am very happy with it.

So, for now... long life Holland!

Nunca estamos seguros de si deberíamos contar desde el 29: el día que llegamos a Holanda únicamente con las cosas que cabían en nuestro coche tras un largo viaje a través de unas España y Francia congeladas, o el 30: el día que nos despertamos en nuestra nueva tierra, con un futuro incierto por delante pero cargados de entusiasmo. De cualquier manera, en aquel momento no podría haber contestado la pregunta "¿cuánto tiempo vas a estar aquí?" pero según pasa el tiempo parece que podría haber contestado "bastante tiempo, amigo".

Pero de nuevo ahora... ¿cuánto tiempo estaré aquí? Simplemente no lo sé. Me gusta vivir la vida según viene y normalmente no pienso mucho en el futuro. Las cosas simplemente pasan. Este aniversario ha pasado y estoy muy contenta de que así haya sido.

Así que, por ahora... ¡larga vida a Holanda!
